Abstract

This paper aims to gain knowledge on modern ICT applications and their use in the field of formal education, training of employees in enterprises and lifelong learning, all in order to improve the educational process, professional training and development in the Republic of Macedonia. Before the empirical research, literature review of the topic was performed. Furthermore, for the aim of the research a survey was used which allowed relevant data collection. The questionnaires were sent to people who have had experience in using the e-learning system in Macedonia. The analysis of e- learning in the Republic of Macedonia, was performed according to the three targeted group defined form the literature review: educational institution, enterprises and professional or personal development. From the gained results we can conclude that there is a positive attitude towards e- learning based on cloud computing in general, but its active usage and integration into the educational system and enterprises is on a low level. Many of the benefits offered by e-learning are partially used in the educational institutions and companies. The reason for not utilizing the full potential of e- learning is not the lack of computer skills among the respondents, but the unawareness of existence of such a system on a global level and a weak IT structure. However, there is a huge potential regarding e-learning in Macedonia. That is seen in the fact that most of the respondents who have had contact with e-learning, either on professional or private level replied positively about this method of gaining and sharing knowledge.
